She is growing up in a world where nobody has ever said that girls can’t be scientists, mathematics, or anything else they darn well please, and it makes my heart soar. π She is remarkable and self-aware. She is sharp, funny, observant, and a critical thinker. She is beautiful and fierce. She is articulate and effortlessly code-switches between environments. (Her fourth grade teacher pointed this out to me, and now I see it all the time.) π Even if she doesn’t like you, she’ll still be polite to you; but you’ll definitely know she doesn’t like you. π This week, we celebrated her eleventh birthday.
