This is Boo's sweater, sort of:
I may have hit a wall. So, here's the list of things I would rather do than knit one more row of seed stitch:
- Dust.
- Dishes.
- Laundry.
- Tidy my office.
- Look up knife technique classes at Sur La Table.
- Blog.
- Catch up on "Big Love".
- Finish up Season 5 of Hercules on the Roku Box.
- Take a nap.
- Complain about seed stitch giving me ennui on Facebook.
- Complain about seed stitch to Andrew, my mother, and both dogs.
- Holler "WHYYYYYY?!" into the night sky, shaking my fists.
- Justify replacing our mugs with Mustache Mugs. (Go ahead, click. You know you want to.)
- Daydream about casting one not one, but THREE sweaters for myself, then snap back to keeping myself on track with Jasmin 2010.
And you can bet that I've done each and every one of those things, with only 2 1/2" more to go on each of the sleeves on Boo's Sweater. Tomorrow, I will drink a lot of coffee, and finish the sleeves.
Jasmin 2010, over and out.

Go you- I am proud of you for sticking it out, even though you really don't want to. :) Just think how happy Boo is going to be when you give her the jacket!!!
ReplyDeletethank you for helping me to explain why i'm doing laundry first thing in the morning -- i feel your seed stitch pain. (i'm working on a big ol' piece of seed stitch that i actually had to rip out and re-cast on due to some kind of strange gauge relaxing that must have something to do with being in between semesters.)
ReplyDeletemy solution? coffee, and i'm only allowed to watch more Bones if i am knitting my piece of seed stitch...
I HATE seed stitch!!! You are a brave girl....I'd contemplate the mugs. They're awesome.
ReplyDeleteAm I the only person in the world who doesn't hate seed stitch?
ReplyDeleteI really don't think I'd made it that far with all that seed stitch. I admire your courage and your example (don't give into taking on the seed stitch sweater I've been eyeing on Ravelry). teehee....you will get through it though. I believe in you.
ReplyDeleteI feel for you. This is exactly what is keeping me from knitting the Peak's Island Hood. Hang in there. Just try to knit an inch of (vertical) progress a day.
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who adores seed stitch? :)
ReplyDeleteI don't hate seed stitch, Emy! I find the repetition meditative. And easy to keep track of. In fact, from now on I may knit ALL projects with seed stitch to show it the LOVE and RESPECT it deserves and doesn't get from the hoity-toity Hoi Palloi. ;)
ReplyDeleteMy potter friend called me in great excitement to tell me he'd created a mustache mug for my dad, one with a bridge across a third of the top to keep his lipwhiskers clean. So, hey, that made that Christmas present choosing easy.
